This show was amazing. All film and video. Carlo and Tessa hand picked 50 artists, I was shown in the Action section along side Michael Halsband and Thomas Campbell. My piece is called SKITCHING and it is a short documentary of a night out in a big snowstorm in NYC. I was hanging off bumpers with Edward Smith, Nadem Essey, Dash Snow, Kenji, and some local kids from neighborhood in the Lower East Side, NYC. This was as fun as it looks. This show was in Japan and I still haven’t been there but I find a bit of solace that my video about Lauren Mollica made it all the way to the show in the competent hands of Elska and Katherine.. Lauren is one of my favorite people and this video captures 7 minutes of her life. She is fascinating, funny, and sincere. Lauren is also a wicked athlete, artist, mechanic, the BEST houseguest ever [ she will clean your place ], musician, and makes art out of waking up in the morning. She is Renaissance Jersey. She was skating for Rookie Skateboards in 2003 and is now currently skating in Los Angeles for Tony Alva’s girl team. Everybody here misses Lauren but we cant compete with 70 degree days everyday. some Video You Ride Right Through Me is a 3 minute video about a relationship that started with a bike ride. It was shown in the Bicycle Film Festival at Anthology Archives in May, 2006. The Bicycle Film Festival is curated by Brendt Barbur and happening in Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis, Portland, San Francisco, Vienna, London, Paris, Tokyo, Milano, Roma, Barcelona, Sydney, and here in New York City during the month of May, 2007. Opening night is May 16 at Anthology Archives and the festival closes May 20th.
